There are Many Places to Find Coupons

urlMany of us have seen the new couponing show on TV … but I’ve heard a lot of people asking, “Where do you get the coupons?” This article will give you a few ideas of where to get coupons, hopefully providing you with a few new ideas.

News, Media, and Product Packaging:

The most obvious locations…

If you are trying to get your hands on every possible coupon that you can, you should definitely start with the easiest, most obvious locations.

NEWS – your Sunday paper. But did you know that some newspapers put their coupons in a weekday edition rather than the Sunday edition? Check with your local news stand – they might be able to tell you which days you can get coupons in each newspaper. Why pay $2 for the Sunday coupons if you can get the same coupons during the week for less than $1.

MEDIA – next time you’re standing in the check-out line, check out some of the magazines on display. Many of the specialty women’s magazines have loads of coupons in each issue! My favorite is “For Women First” – not only do they have a LOT of coupons in each issue, but they even have an index for the coupons in the last few pages! Many of the magazines are focused on making things easier, and will feature coupons as ways to save money.

PRODUCT PACKAGING – be sure to check your empty boxes and labels before recycling them, as manufacturers often place coupons there. Sometimes they’re in their own little package, and sometimes they’re on the back of a label … you just have to look for them.

Most product packaging will also list a website for that particular product or company. It doesn’t hurt to check their websites, as you can also get coupons there, as well. Sometimes you can print them out, or they might ask you to join their mailing lists or newsletters. Newsletters often have coupons in them.

Some *Not So Obvious* Locations:

url3YOUR NEWSPAPER CARRIER – do you subscribe to your local newspaper? It wouldn’t hurt to ask your delivery person if they would be able to get you some extra coupon inserts … a small cash tip probably couldn’t hurt when asking.

FRIENDS AND FAMILY – Be sure to let people know that you’re collecting coupons. Many people just throw them away, but if you are diligent at taking them off their hands, they would very likely save them for you.

STORE WEEKLY ADS – Some retailers will put coupons in their ads, or even publish a book of coupons that you can only get by visiting their store.

Join a Program on the Internet:

If you have been following my blog or some of my other articlees, you will know that I like to earn money (and help others do the same!) on the internet. Some of the programs that I participate in offer free coupons that you can print from their website, and then they pay you AGAIN after you redeem them!

I often get them from InboxDollars, SendEarnings, and MyPoints. Follow the link to my blog for more info.

Online Auctions:

Coupons on ebay???

Did you know that you can actually BUY coupons on ebay? I think it is illegal to actually buy and sell coupons, so what you are paying for is somebody’s time to clip and organize them for you.

It’s also a nice way to earn a little spare change if you have a lot of coupons that you know you will not be using.

*Note* if you do try to sell coupons on ebay, I’ve noticed that people expect real, actual, cut-out coupons … NOT internet coupons!
